Communications
At Almaden Country School, we believe that practicing open communications with parents is fundamental to fostering community. For individual needs, this is achieved through one-on-one exchange with the administration, teachers, and fellow parents. On a larger scale, Parent Service Auxiliary and “Town Hall” meetings also take place. For classroom, schoolwide, or PSA news, the school also publishes a variety of communications to keep parents regularly informed.
Weekly Classroom Report
The Weekly Classroom Report is an e-mail subscription service that provides personalized school and classroom-specific information delivered to parents and other subscribers, such as extended family or friends. This service has proven especially valuable for working parents. Requests for subscriptions should be sent to WeeklyClassroomReport@a-cs.org. Note that this service is limited to existing ACS families only.
ACS InFocus
ACS InFocus is an academically focused newsletter published by the administration and the school board that spotlights exceptional learning philosophies in practice at ACS. A small sampling of topics covered might include Curriculum and Expected School Wide Learning Results, preparing for teachers’ conferences, enrichment spotlights such as middle school science, or in-depth views of teaching teams.
The Apple Seed
The Apple Seed is an weekly bulletin published by the PSA and distributed
electronically to inform families of timely school news.
The Apple Barrel
The Apple Barrel is a printed newsletter featuring memory-making activities expressed through stories and photos that showcase recent academic achievement, enrichment, and social events. It is produced by the Parent Service Auxiliary (PSA) and distributed each trimester.
