Parents

Family involvement is a vital asset to every successful, thriving school. Parents who give meaningful, significant service to their children’s school enjoy an opportunity to become better acquainted with staff, school philosophies, and like-minded parents. Perhaps even more important, the children of an involved family typically gain in self-esteem and develop stronger bonds to their school community.

While we expect that every family become involved, the school does not require a set number of service hours. We hold to the adage that “you can buy a person’s back, but you cannot buy their heart.” We certainly want your heart at Almaden Country School. To that end, we simply ask that parents find ways to serve that engage their talents and interests, that are meaningful to their families, and that help the school. At the beginning of each year, our Parent Service Auxiliary (PSA) provides a list of the activities parents might help with. We encourage you to review the opportunities as a family by visiting the on-line volunteer form, and participate in those activities that best fit your talents, interests, and schedule.
